Hong Kong Adventure Travel Blog Series

Hello is me again!

was feeling pretty down so I decided to reward myself by travelling. Hong Kong/Bangkok was in my plan because they are really near to Singapore approximately three to four hours flight.

Purchased my Tigerair tickets via Skyscanner where the website will generate your desire location based on your budget, number of stops and of course, the timing you wanted. I wanted to fly immediately in late midnight and come back to Singapore (+1 hour) in time for summer module. Come to think of it it's quite tiring rushing to pack your luggage and coming back for classes while you friends are preparing for pre-class assignments. Bought ticket for $368 both way excluding check in luggage (could have gotten cheaper if it wasn't for Sunday night) and off I go to the land of Dim Sum and busy streets of Hong kong!

We touched down Hong Kong Terminal at 9.50 am and settled everything in immigration checkpoint in twenty minutes. Be sure to get ready your immigration cards so that the queue will be slightly shorter and quicker. The entire process was rather quick and we boarded the immediate train to the arrival hall. It was ALWAYS a dilemma whether to take taxi or airport transfer express train.

Taxi cost around HKD $240 and Airport Transfer alone cost HKD $200. It's around $30 in Singapore dollars. We experienced a little traffic jam and trust me all the drivers are swearing and driving dangerously. I booked a last minute budget hotel at Mongkok, No 733 Nathan Street that cost around $37 Singapore dollars. It was generally okay for me because I'm really not looking for morning breakfast or comfortable bed sheets since my main purpose is to eat local food and spend most of my time there walking and travelling.

The temperature is around 27 degree to 28 degree for now, and it's little cloudy right now.
Bought my favourite curry fish ball for $4! Spiciness is just right amount.
Did I mention that I specially checked in my luggage for this??? Brought two packet and checked it into my luggage. DONT GET IT WHY THEY DON'T SELL IT IN SINGAPORE!!!

Love how refreshing the lemon tea is, and almost every department store sells it LOL Cost around $0.50 per packet.

Our first meal! Wanton with Kway Tiao Noodles. I find the soup a little bland but the wanton is good! Filled with fresh shrimp and meat with smooth skin. But the portion is really too big for me, couldn't finish all the noodles. Anyway, my initial plan was to go Ocean Park and literally scream off all my mixture of sadness plus angriness and whatever feeling la. But the day doesn't look good. Seems like going to rain any moment and did I mention that Ocean Park Tickets are a little pricey?

$60 for a whole day admission ticket actually equivalent to Universal Studio.
So feeling damn sian we decided to go Macau hahaha. It was one of the best decision?!?

Just take a train to Sheung Wan by MTR Mongkok Station and exit A I think. Find the direction that says Taipa Ferry Terminal. Right there there's a pretty much resemblance to Lucky Plaza in Singapore and proceed to level 3 to get your ferry tickets!

Btw I noticed that there are a few aunties standing outside the ferry terminal selling ferry tickets. Didn't ask them for price as I was worried that they would sell us fake tickets. But when I got back to Singapore my friend told me that they've gotten HKD150 for two person?!?! Wah really damn sian cause we paid like HKD174 for one person from a LEGIT counter.

And yay!! Reached Macau in 55 minutes and Macau looked exactly like Hong Kong just that there's residential buildings like HDBs, condo and right across is where all the big hotels and different casinos. Quite funny I think??! Literally Macau residents can gamble everyday LOL

Yay!! So many people. (Anyway I shave ok!!!!!! Looked like public hair but it's ISN'T OK LOL) Probably the dark areas after editing contrast to the photo.

One of the super grand hotel in Macau.
 Selfie in Macau.

ST PAUL'S RUIN
That is probably where I was gasping for air and wowing at the remaining church. It is the ruin of a 16th Century Portuguese Church dedicated to Saint Paul. It was built from 1620 to 1640. Really such a pity that the building was destroyed by a fire during a typhoon in 1865.

Felt damn honoured to touch the external walls of it LOL.

More selfies!

Then on our way there we bought some tender beef soup with mushrooms! The soup taste so good with the chilli. Actually I realise generally HK people love to eat beef! Cost around SGD $3

 Saw this dog! So cute.
Decide post with the telephone booth

So right beside St Paul Ruin there's this park with staircase leading to somewhere. Decided to head up and explore further.

Selfie with a pope! Can't remember the exact descriptions but he's in charge of academic matters and they built in honour of him. Please bless my studies.

AND GUESS WHAT!! I reached the peak of MACAU!!!!!!!!! The feeling is so awesome, like you didn't expect it to be so awesome???! But it's kinda dangerous as there are ledge to protect. So if you fall, you gonna fall all the way down :( Loving my hair too.
Then we bought one Portuguese tart! So egg tarts originally come from Portuguese? taste damn good la, should have bought like a box home hahahaha

AND GUYS I JUST ATE THE BEST MAO SHAN WANG
The meat is filled with creaminess, thickness and the smell is overwhelming (that is the whole point right?)

Ignore those eyebags but LOOK AT THE DURIAN!!
Went to Casino and as usual, they forever check my passport cause I don't look like 21 years old this year. In fact I'm already 22!!! Went in, don't even dare to bet cause the chips are scary. Majority of the people are like putting red chips ($1000?) like for free and when the big/small dice roll, they really lose like free also.
Really damn exciting but at the same time, I got so damn worried for them. I didn't bet but we kinda lost some bets too. Alot atas senior citizen corners HAHA They are the damn rich ones around.

We got lucky when we were on our way back to Hong Kong!! They were awesome enough to upgrade our economy seats to first class premier seats for free!! Gotten window seat and a really comfortable leather seat. Fell asleep for the entire ride back.
Welcome aboard to First Class Cabin. Really damn different treatment man.
while waiting food to be served.
The second day was pouring badly and had to get a 7-11 umbrella else, we can't travel anywhere. Instagram worthy!
Love how their back alley can be so colourful and instagram worthy.
Attempt to eat Yoshinoya beef bowl HEH
Then, time flies and it was my last meal there. Tomato egg soup with rice porridge.
Felt like home though, the egg texture, meat and the taste just nice :)

Cost $5 SGD but worth it! One big bowl of goodness.

So while walking back we saw roasted pork with chicken and taiwanese sausage for less than $4 per packet?!?! Thats really cheap!!! Got a smaller version of duck packet and accidentally left our umbrella at the shop we ate for dinner. No wonder he was like yelling at me that I have forgotten something but I just kept saying "don't want la, no need, thanks!"

The entire trip we spend around $300 SGD? Really one of the most expensive trip so far considering it is only a 2 day short trip. But it was certainly one of the most satisfying impromptu trip going to Macau that was not in my itinerary plan at all! We didn't buy the octopus card that the people were using to travel since we are there for only few days. Tourist SIM card also quite costly that comes with a free unlimited WIFI (but not usable in Macau, they do have free wifis in buses!) Then I bought alot dim sums, ice lemon tea, cup noodles and pasta sauce! They sell literally everything and even Singapore brand laksa noodles?!?

Damn embarassing to ask Karmil to buy it to Hongkong when they already sell it -____-

Hope you enjoy it!!

Finals

OOTD: Grey knitted Top (Scape level 1 Blogshop), Blue pants from Flea and cheap $2 slippers.

Okay I shouldn't waste time in social media already, but first thank you god! For everything wonderful that is happening in my life. I know it's you when I receive it! Really super thankful. Yay I appealed and got the IE grant!!! Cause my gpa damn low HAHAHA

It's funny how everything fall into place cause initially I had to go for deloitte interview but I was surprisingly damn late and everything was going damn not smooth. I knew I had to make the choice of two if I am picked, and definitely would choose local so... he didn't let me get through the interview and there was no response whether if it's a no-go or go.

And then, it was the position of IT marketing assistant internship and I was really so glad. I really can't do programming for nuts (can barely do) but quite bad at it. But now main concern if I'm able to pass modules. Have to really work hard already!!!!

Okay jiayou ok and I'll see you Beijing, in a month time! :)

Life Quotes

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

Life Quote

Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don't know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.
