Fresh Generation Seafood Soup (鲜一代) Food Review

Fresh Generation offers seafood soup including big lobsters and massive prawn for an affordable price. In addition, the stall is especially accessible since they are located in the famous Bukit Timah Market and Hawker Centre near Beauty World MRT just 3 minutes walk away. They were extremely generous with the portion of seafood that will definitely give you the shiok shiok feeling afterwards!
The crayfish and prawns were cooked to perfection, not too overly cooked and the meat was firm and tender. It was really juicy and sweet and I absolutely love the chewy feeling of biting it :-) For my verdict of the soup, it was tasty and definitely not bland at all. It was rich in flavour and I actually tried to finish drinking the whole bowl of seafood broth. Also, I could taste the wok hei fragrance that brings out the best combination. Interesting, you can choose to go with your meal either
rice ($0.50) or handmade noodles ($0.50) a small fraction of the amount to go well with your soup.
I (My brother) also had the privilege to talk to one of the workers there. She's really friendly and shared about how they cook the seafood soup. According to her, this requires ample skills and effort considering they would first have to cook the seafood to wok hei fragerance, and then adding the broth and vegetables slowly into the wok for the sweet taste. Lastly adding more seafood and boiling it.
Here's a close up shot of seafood and from here, you definitely can see the super tender prawns. Mega love to lala clams too!!
Where can you get seafood soup at such afforable price?! The prices of the seafood bowl are as shown above. For me, I highly recommend the $10 crayfish seafood soup that won't burn your wallet and at the same time, you're able to taste such great quality seafood :)
Not kidding you right HAHA Look at the fire and the uncle look like a pro. Snap, tag and follow them on instagram! I would say they are a hipster bunch of new hawker generations, providing quality yet affordable price.

Holiday Villa Johor Bahru Hotel Review

Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre
260, Jalan Dato Sulaiman, Taman Abad, 80250 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia

The location of the hotel is near the vicinity of KSL mall (just behind) and also, to Malaysia's custom immigration and other local attractions such as legoland. The hotel booking cost around $89-$92 SGD which is really affordable as compared to Singapore's hotel of 4.2 star rating, between $350 - $450 and it will be a drive away if you managed to book grab in advance from woodlands checkpoint/kranji mrt and stamp your passport and you're in!

We went there on a Friday night after our work to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and the traffic jam was so bad. Everyone was rushing to return to malaysia since there was a labour day holiday that falls on a Monday. I always wanted like a skypool staycation where we could just admire the country's landscape and dip our legs in the pool. They even provide us with towels each - but you have to sign with your card and long benches to put our valuables and accessories. The place was not crowded with people (thank god) and we were able to take many pictures without the view being block by many people. Big happy birthday to the boy who deserves the best from me :')
But before that, we reached the hotel at around 11 plus and I was unsure how to set up the entire birthday celebration. So I asked if he could spare some time off to read books outside haha while I set up everything secretly, him not knowing what to expect.
I always thought it was a romantic idea to have one celebration above the skyline and with the cake of course! But I have made a mistake of spelling his name wrong LOL, spell it as brain instead of brian. But is a good thing? since, brain is associate with smart! Thank god he like the taste of the cheesecake and also chocolate cake.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Love the pretty skyline!
Morning situation. We were greeted with this outside our hotel lift lobby,
Then we started swimming after our breakfast! There isn't any restrictions with regards to swimming attire. I have seen people with t-shirts and shorts where I do think that they are lenient with the attire which is a good thing,
The weather was really great! Thank god for the awesome weather,
The hotel also come with complimentary international breakfast that is really worth it! If you do your calculation, that works around $40SGD for hotel and another $40 for breakfast (2 pax) Super worth it cause their hotel toilet super clean.

their choice of breakfast not limited to:
  • Either omelette, scramble eggs, plain double sided egg (request at the counter)
  • Mee soup (prawn, fishcake) at the counter
  • chicken/plain porridge (self service), boiled egg love this!!!
  • sausage, ham and french toast with maple syrup american breakfast style
  • salad, fruits bar and also giveaway free yogurts
  • Indian cuisine style like thosai, mashed potatoes with gravy
  • Malay rendang chicken with rice
  • Noodles, vegetables etc.
  • orange juice, coffee/tea served by waiter/waitress
So worth it to be having our early breakfast. Feel super atas too!!
Pool without anyone in the picture LOL
And inside the female changing room, there is a hot sauna room and Jacuzzi room. I wished I could stay longer but unable because we are checking out at 12! The hotel was so overwhelmed with booking that we couldn't do an extension. But i can understand why because the hotel is cheap and shiok!!! Can never find this anywhere.
Happy birthday dear, hope you love the birthday celebration!!! :)
LOL at the deflated one piece balloon behind.

Life Quotes

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

Steve Jobs

Life Quote

Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don't know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.

D.H Lawrence
