Bali Travel blog

Yay to the part II of the Bali blog.
So to continue from the first part, I ended off at Tanah Lot hahahaha.
So after we went there, we took the same cab back to our villa, Semiyak and had a romantic dinner to celebrate our 11th month together. It was surely the best dinner ever simply because the restaurant resembles somewhat in a romantic movie scene. However the bill was kinda expensive haha...... but still worth it for a great dinner and ambiance.

Flower put on by dearest.

IT was SIMPLY DA AWESOME.

Yum..

The next morning we rented our motobike to find traditional balinese food (again!) Found this small restaurant operate by a humble family and a very very cute puppy. While they are preparing food for us, we took the chance to play with the 10 month old dog.

went back to the poolside for a sumptuous lunch+breakie. Laid out burger, steak bread and had fun in the swimming pool waddling inside which is so super deep.... thank god for KLM airplane float or I might just struggle through :(

cooked yummy samosa (curry with potato filling) for our snack!!

LOL

Then off we go to another legend temple! Can't really remember where is this place....... I'll try google it when I have time HAHAH

Beautiful scenery, best travel companion. :)

Bought 50c bracelet from the auntie. All handmade with love.

OK. WE ARE KINDA YOLO CAUSE WE STEPPED ON A PLATFORM TO TAKE PHOTO. YAYYY CLAPS.

WOOHOOOOO!!

By the way if you're wondering why we are wrapped with a purple cloth, that's because tourists/locals are entering what is known as "sacred" place for bali religion, so we have to respect the gods there. Apparently, it's my favourite colour too!!! :)

They came over and decide to take photo with us. HAHA

Ni yao wo ma? YAOOOO LOL

The horrible monkeys in clan SOMEMORE. Apparently, our kind host warned us not to hang any kind of shades, colourful bracelet and keep our food inside our bag because all the monkeys are trained to steal stuffs from tourist! According to them, if we want our items to be back, we will have to pay a small fee (tip of 20,000 rumpiah) to get back our items. THEY ARE TRAINED OH MY GOODNESS.

There this old monkey snatched away dear's slippers and it broke. That's him pointing at the monkey.... I was so worried that they snatch away my camera and throw it into the sea so I quickly rush dear to go off. Can't imagine how upset I will be.

Then we took cab again to see the beautiful sunset before catching our flight home to Singapore. The view is gorgeous, and we sat there with our drinks and food admiring beautiful bali beaches, and people running around.

What's a good sunset photo without a jumpshot? :)

YAY1

YAYYAY2

By the way the food is overly pricey too. We had a small plate of instant noodles fried and rice for $30 SGD in total. However, it isn't that crazy compared to their seafood combo package $100USD for 5 people.

Our food!!

Back to KLM airplane.

We had such a wonderful trip all thanks to dear's crazy luck. But sadly on our way back we couldn't choose to sit together because all the sits are already all taken by passengers. Both of us had horrible flight syndrome, I had severe ear problem and 'head exploring' kind of pain. It was so scary that I wanted to cry and thought I was going to die lollol. When the aircraft finally landed, I ran over to dear's side and he too, was super uncomfortable and wanted to find me too.

That's how attached we were together :(

So thankful for this trip and of course, for dear taking care of me throughout.
Ps. He actually bought a bag that I admired for a long time secretly and put inside my luggage! Can't expressed how happy I am when I saw it. Will post again soon! Do lookout ya. :)

Bali Travel Blog I (Thank you KLM and airbnb!)

WEEEE YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Thank you KLM and airbnb!

We are the luckiest couple in the whole wide world. Thanks to my lucky boyfriend, we won 2 tickets to Bali!!!! The story goes like this: I was randomly looking through all blogger's instagram posts and found out that KLM together with airbnb is organising a instant getaway trip to Bali! They kindly provided all winners with two-way economy flight ticket with villa as accommodation.

when I saw this I was like literally...

I FREAKING NEED WIN THIS. DAMN THIS IS TOO GOOD.
Then I texted boyfriend to ask if he's interested and ready to bring our luggage to Scape for the grand lucky draw. Wow it's really a test of faith cause we might just bring our luggage home empty-handed. Felt quite embarrassed (I'm abit paiseh cause where got people bring luggage to scape one!)

Packed 3 set of clothing, contact lens solution, spectacles and some first aid kit with the thought of winning. Dear prayed the whole night for this trip to come true and off we go next day........honestly that day I was damn nervous because there's so many people sitting around with their baggage, like us they are waiting for the announcement of lucky draw winners! Got freaking worried when the emcee announced 6 winners leaving 4 more to go although dear's face still super calm and cooled me down. Then it was.
"Brian le....e.... se wei"
"OMG OMG OMG IS US???!?!?!???!"

That moment I felt like a superstar. There's a aisle ready for us to walk to the front to collect our tickets to Bali. It's damn crazy but we got it, out of 200+ participants. God is too good, or rather Brian lee was too lucky. There, it was start of our sponsored crazy trip to Bali! Our flight departing in 3 hours time and we quickly went to lucky plaza to exchange our indonesia rumpiahs and whatsapp/call/text our family that we're flying soon. We cab here and there, and finally we reached airport at 3.45pm.

LOL @ our happy face. Dear was having slight swollen from his wisdom tooth surgery but he's still looking good as usual! Boarded KLM airplane, but before that they kindly invited us over at sky lounge for some snacks, drinks and unlimited wine, beer and all. I don't think I will ever get to enter the lounge again, only first class/business class get to enter them... maybe in future :(

The yummy sandwich with smoked ham, cheese and chicken pie.

woohoooooo wine wine! But i only drank 3 sip so.......

KLM even gave us sky priority! That means that we didn't have to queue, and the check-in process was swift, fast and easy. Thank you KLM for being a wonderful host to us :)

There's ton of entertainment during your flight hours such as music, game, movies. I really love how easy it is to control the screen, and there's even flight and meal information for you to see! The flight took approximately 2hr 15mins and we reached Bali.

That's our AWESOME VILLAAAAA by Airbnb! They're really nice to arrange such a beautiful villa and a great host! Dear had a major cut on his leg and had to rush to pharmacy for some medication and plasters. Thankfully the host opened his first aid box and even offered to send us there, despite the inconvenience. Thumbs up for a great ambiance and host!

The entire villa for both of us. Actually we're suppose to invite 2 more people, but it was too rush and I registered only our names. But it was really great to stay the place by ourselves with nobody else.

That's our bed with television. The owner even had DVD player with tons of CDs for us to watch in the villa. Watched for the first night and fell asleep subsequently for all the nights. It's really that comfortable. Then....... rise and shine! I didn't took the photo of the pool in the dark though.

say hello to our beautiful villa with our own private pool!!! By the way the place we stayed is at Semiyak, where there is tons of cafes, bars and restaurants. We decided to settle for some simple meal and explore around the city.

Tom yum soup, pasta with indonesian fried chicken. Hungry now :(

then we HAD PIZZAAAAAAAAAA after a long hot day. Really delicious and the pizza cost S7 in SGD???? Totally in love with their thin crust with lots of filling, cheese and meat.

Took a stroll down kuta beach through ku de ta. If i'm not mistake, that bar is rather well known in Singapore. Really love bali beaches, awesome waves for surfing and smooth, very fine black volcanic sand to walk on. This is really life.

In evening we decided to rent motorbike for ourselves (again!) It is definitely a must to rent motobike because it's so inconvenient for us to walk around under hot sun and explore the place around. Rent the bike for $12 for three good days. Drove to Semiyak square to takeaway our dinner to eat by the villa.

Ordered chicken chop, pasta and some sides for dinner while enjoying such ambiance.

Day 3

our days in Bali were gone in a blink. The first night we reached Bali very late at night and second day we just walked around the place, going to beach and chilling around. We decided to be like a tourist! Rise and shine early in the morning and off we go.

YAY!!!!!! Took a cab (around 1hr) to Tanah Lot, cost us around $20 SGD two way. Damn damn worth it! Tanah Lot is a rock formation off indonesian island of Bali. It is home to the pilgrimage temple, and the place is popular with tourist and cultural icon for photography. Just a short story.

Taken from Wikepedia-
Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 16th-century Dang Hyang Nirartha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island's beautiful setting and rested there. Some fishermen saw him, and bought him gifts. Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock, for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods.[3]The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples was established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. In addition to Balinese mythology, the temple was significantly influenced by Hinduism.
At the base of the rocky island, venomous sea snakes are believed to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders. The temple is purportedly protected by a giant snake, which was created from Nirartha's selendang (a type of sash) when he established the island.
Yeah interesting right??????????? I will show you the sea snakes later haha!!!

Such magnificent temple indeed.

Any idea what is this animal? It's the famous civet cat coffee! Coffee that is derived from faeces of the civet cat. I don't really like the idea that the animal is chained though... but it's still a good experience to come in contact with the animal and hopefully, they'll release it to wild soon.

Munching our less than a dollar corn.

YUM YUM YUM.

Beautiful scenery.

There is certain tide timing in Indonesia to follow, which I suggest you guys to google the best timing to go. We went around 2pm, which is considerably low tide. (0.5m). Unfortunately, you won't be able to get down to the temple or the rock formation if the tide is too high. Wait for the perfect tide timing or rather do some research before going alright!

Somebody's slippers though.

HAHAHAHAHA HAD TO POST THIS. SO ADORABLEZ.

We hired a guy for less than $5 to help us with photo taking. The photos he took are amazing!

Photos and more photos.

AMAZINGGGGGG

Remember the sea snake that was mentioned in the legend???? OMG WE MANAGED TO SEE IT. Paid a small donation just to see the snake. Sea snake are known to be poisonous though.

Lucky for us, the snake is tamed by the guy inside. We went to snake park afterwards! Super huge yet friendly snake.

OK. So dear paid around $5 dollars to take photo with the snake hhaahahha

kissing the snake........ hahhaha

They had bats too!!!!!

More snakes.......

Poor mouses gonna be eaten by the snakes in the park.

Absolutely in love with bali and their gorgeous view!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bye Tanah Lot.......

Life Quotes

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.

Steve Jobs

Life Quote

Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don't know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.
