Korea Seoul Food Series Blog Visuals Part I

Anneyong!
Cold Noodles
In korea, cold noodles are very popular. The texture of the chewy and thin noodles served with cold broth. The cold broth is tasty, savoury and a little sweet. Every single time I slurp the cold noodles the shiokness is there!! I love how kind the ajummas were in giving the side dishes such as raddish, kimchi to go with your food. We even joke buying rice and eating with kimchi every day.
Big Watermelon
The size of the watermelon as compared to Singapore ones. They are so big! However, one thing I have noticed is that their fruits are considered seasoned which means they are all very expensive! For instance, a banana might cost around $2 (not the whole bunch of course) and their watermelon averaged around $25-$26. In some department stores, they have regular tasting ongoing and we love the sweetness of their fruits. It was honestly one of the best quality. Pure sweetness.
 Street food: Korea fish cake
Korean fish cake with broth! You can see this everywhere on the streets of Seoul. The price range around 1,000won to 3,000won. In Myeongdong, it is slightly more expensive usually 3,000 won per stick because of the tourists there! We also tasted the octopus legs as well.
Osulloc green tea ice cream
Ossulloc hail from Jeju, Korea and they sell many varieties of tea! They even have their own tea plantation in Jeju and a museum. I love the rich taste of green tea that comes with a little bitterness due to the blending of tea leaves into the ice cream machine. You can see in large department stores like Lotte World Mall and sometimes they have 1 for 1 promotion! I think we spend 5,000 won for two cups.
Cafes and more cafes.

100 yr coffee
I googled and found out that they make really nice mochas and the place is super instagrammable. However, we didn't settle for this cafe as we mainly look around. This is located at Hongdae, Seoul with walkable distance.
The famous lamb
Lovely cafe tucked in between alleys. They served mainly western breakfasts and their mochas are good as well!
Mentaiko bread bowl with chicken
This is highly raved because of the generous pizza cheese and also the sauce. The bread were garlic toasted and it goes extremely well with the chicken and the sauce. The portion is big enough to be shared with 3-4 people. This is located at Hongdae, Seoul too.
Picture moments.
Korea ramen, cold udon noodles and fish cake as side dish!
You will soon realise that korea food revolves around the same red pepper sauce.
Sweet potato fish pastry known as Bungeoppang
One of the super popular Korea snack you'll find the subway! They were usually pre-made and sell cheaply for around 1,500 won. The chef coated the whole fish with maple syrup and sweet potato filling inside. I love it but the cashiers were a little mean to us, but it tasted so good! Worth a try.
Mini melts ice cream
You can find them everywhere too, in 7-11, their CU mart. I love how it melted in my mouth during the hot summer. Have I mention that the ice cream flavour is cotton candy??? mega love. Paid for 2,000 won.
Seoul Forest.
Dak Galbi (Stir fry marinated chicken)
It comes with various side dishes and made of marinated dice chicken in gochujang sauce. I love how we can stir fry our own food and sit on the floor with cushion. What a traditional way of eating!
Instant noodle: Stir fry Jin Jijambbokbang Ramen
This is officially MY favourite ramen. I have been eating it frequently in korea because it tasted so similar to the spicy noodles we had in Singapore but less spicy and tastier! I really like the noodles as well like mee pok noodles. Its a little tough to find it everywhere but you can definitely find it! The seafood taste is soo good and there's dried vegetables and small continents sachets inside the cup noodle bowl.
Ramen hotpot with seafood?
Usually I wont pay for overpriced instant noodle pot but this is totally worth it! They include cheese, hotdog, squid, potato and noodles. I love the soup base and wouldn't mind eating again! We paid for around 20,000 won for 3 person so it was quite decent. It also comes with free kimchi rice or ice cream.
Look at how springy the octupus was!
Us happily enjoying the meal :)
Back alley, near hyehwa station to Mural Village.

The half scenery at the wall- Naksan Park
The Seoul Fortess wall is located on top of Mount Naksan. Many times we were just randomly going around and found their local attraction! The place is filled with local art, and steep staircases covered with colourful paintings. They once called it a slum village. The Hanyangdoseong is a series of walls made of stone, wood and other materials built to protect the city of Seoul against invaders. Sounds like great wall of china..?

Well will be putting up part II, so here are the food you should try when you're there! Highly recommended.
