Singapore's first ever night party run, ILLUMI RUN 2013 on Dec 7 saw close to 10,000 runners lighting up the

My readership view is dropping drastically so i really have to do something about it like planning a calendar to post all the events updates everyday without fail hopefully. So last weekend i joined Illumi run with my best clique and it was really a great experience! $58 dollars totally worth every single cent! The organizers did such a brilliant job and initially i thought it will just gonna be some marketing gimmick....
So we went there around 6pm and started queuing to place our bags. The volunteers really friendly as majority of them comes from republic polytechnic. Kudos to such a great school with great student hospitality! Then we started wearing our LED wrist bands and goggles. Goggles pretty not helpful on that day because the neon paint just smudge on the plastic surface and tadaaaaaaa you can't see anything at all!!!!!
We wore our specs and we become like some alien that's gonna zap with some neon lights. The queue was really long and thankfully, i brought DSLR camera along to accompany. Really crazy the night because everyone was just so high, the DJs are really fabulous and they even provide tube-like sticks and throw it to each and every of the audience! Kudos for everything.
So at the end of the race, there's a party ongoing to celebrate the end of 5k. We didn't really run much cause we feel that we should totally enjoy the run and "party on the run" as quoted everywhere.
Everybody was just squeezing around shouting 'AWA AWA' and singing the night away. It was honestly a really good experience because by far, this is the most exciting outdoor race event that ever happened in singapore. However, we got sprayed badly with neon paint on our faces cause they practically just spam everything on everyone. ORANGE COLOUR IN FACT!!!!!!
Everybody started running and it was really a great sight to view at. Oh! They actually had flying controlled cameras by the DJs to take different shots of us, the participants.
That's the entire run route we had... honestly i feel it was really too short and the hydration point people just kept taking 100 plus cold drink and nothing else. There are 5 glow zones with different colour. While running to the green glow zone, i think my entire face was smudge with green paint thanks to the guys below.
All of our face, hair and even my ear is not spared from the paint itself. i even ate some of the paint and it tasted damn bad... thankfully i've checked the site and it is not toxic at all. THANK YOU GOD.

Our glowing wrist band. Somehow the blue wrist band changed it's colour to white due to the paint. However, we decided that the band is too cool so we brought it home. Actually everyone did.

Queued for 20mins and the guys are complaining. Realise that our shirts are glowing with the neon paint? After we left, the queue suddenly extend to 1-2hours.
Dirty shoes. Had to scrub hard the paint when i reach home. Hey, thats my running shoes for the year :(
Everybody was really hyped out and singing, dancing and even screaming for the event. It was so awesome and majority of the participants are students.

So i ended off taking a memorable shot of the paint on my face before i washed it off. Honestly i think it was the best night ever and i really hope there's more of such events! Spend 30minutes trying to wash off the paint and when the water flow downwards, there's a smelly, sticky goo flowing down i'm like urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Hopefully there's illumi 2014! looking forward to join again as a participant.
