G R A D U A T I O N

Oh my goodness.

Time flies and I've officially graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic, diploma of business informatics! Can't believe I actually survived through this past three hectic years with endless assignments, late night rushing for IT projects (6 credits modules), debugging mode like crazy which made me so so tired. Hate how I'm feeling every morning going school with a cranky and restless mood. But thank god, I'M FINALLY FINALLY DONEEEEEE

So many people in the list I wanna thank for throughout this years, be it the good or the bad times. Let's have some flashback memories of what happened.

Year 1: Still remember how I entered the school as a "freshie" struggling to cope with Business and IT. I've realised that students in my course are of extremes. Either they're really passionate about business/IT or they belonged to none, hoping to get a diploma and graduated from a course.

For me I belonged to the category of business, better in areas of presentation skills marketing as well as business research. I can never comprehend how people are so keen about studying binary 1010101010101010 as well as computing mathematics which made me so stressed up and sad. Even worse, when we're taught Java language for programming, I almost died.

Not because I was unable to catch up, but because I can't understand the language's complexity and the algorithms. Things became worse when we're introduced to Networking like subnets, how computers set packets of information. I'm not a computer damn it, why do i need to learn how a computer communicates urgh. I didn't score well at all for the first semester because of POA (Principal of Accounting) which till now, remains as one of biggest mystery. It's strange because I've aced all my tests and assignments with A and B+'s, but my final grade was an D with exams only constitute 30%. I really regretted not appealing to see my papers, because during year2 I actually asked one of the senior lectures in NYP and he said they probably burn all the examination papers. What.......

That severely pulled down my entire GPA to 3.1 which I'm still devastated of the results. I could have gotten better results if not for sem1...

Year 2: Year 2 was absolutely great because I get to select the track I wanted. That time I was really stressed over which track (Business/IT) because our course coordinator said business modules generally harder to excel in. I really want to score well for my remaining semesters but I didn't want to take up IT just because it's easier to score. Thank god for my choice of track, that I'm able to meet various SBM (School of business management) teachers where they impart us knowledge of entrepreneurship, marketing in IT or product focuses as well as business communication! I'll never forget our BCom teacher who fought for us hard for As for our class. In fact, she's the most thoughtful teacher I've met, giving us handmade presents and a note specially for all of us.

She inspired us, she fought for us and she taught us so much. Year2 sem 1 was the first time I entered into Director List! Top 10% for the diploma cohort. Really really proud of myself.

Then there was Year 3. That was the period where I felt no motivation to do well partly when I just broke up with my previous ex who hurted me badly. However, there was a tiny voice within myself telling me not give up because it's the final lap to prove my own self-worth. I gave my all for my projects, studied really hard till wee hours to prepare for my examinations. Did really well and entered Director List again. Then, there was industrial attachment period where we're allocated to various companies based on our resume and results. Received a call one day from my course coordinator that I was selected to enter Microsoft to do FYPJ (final year project) together with my attachment. Total of 6 months.

It was the best exposure ever. My group of colleagues and supervisor was absolutely awesome and i've gotten the chance to know so many aspiring startups!! Did my powerpoint slides and a 35 page long report for submission and gotten great grades for my last semester. Accumulated semester GPA good enough to enter uni, but limited to only some courses and related ones. My dear boyfriend have been really supportive and special, which you can read our story here! Really blessed to have him throughout those times when I'm down/having menses cramps.

But overall, I've gained so much in terms of Business and IT knowledge that I'm really proud to have. I won't say I dislike IT now..... in fact I've grown a little interest.

Anyway back to graduation ceremony, hahaha Mom and I swapped our roles lol. She was laughing hysterically while changing into my graduation attire. #cutemomihave

Special shout out to my dear:
you entered my dull life and brought many colours. He sacrificed so much just to attend my graduation ceremony and became my PA (personal assistant) for the day. He even brought polaroid and flims for me so I could take plenty pictures with my friends :') Dear specially wore matching navy colour long sleeve top so to match with my graduation attire.

(on side note: My parents all screamed when I wanted him to carry me up. Dear was feeling really awkward because they all "eh eh eh........." which they felt was kinda obscene") But look, this picture we really look so happy together! :D

full family photo together. Brother rushed to NYP by cab after his presentation and got scolded by what he claimed, his gl teacher hahaha. Really love my family alot alot and I won't be able to do without their love and support.

My korean wannabe best friend, kwanny! She rushed to meet me after her revision tutorial. We've been best of friends for 4 years and she's always there for me, be it the good or bad times. Our friendship will definitely last forever!!!!

Best friend sabby applied her leave from SOT to attend my graduation. So touched and loved. :')

Couple pictures. Thankful for you my dear. :)

Can't express how happy I am whenever I looked at this picture. We seem so happy together although it may seem really candid haha. It was originally a kiss cheek photo but I laughed hard. Maybe my "yan shen" to my dear really attractive cus i find him damn cute haha.

I'll never be able to ace all the projects and last minute revision without this two important girls in my poly life. We've been grouped together for so many projects and small assignments like 10%-20% kind. Days where we complained to each other on our bus back home, stayover at school and even panic when things don't always go according to our plan. We finally graduated and I'm so thankful for everything we had together :)

Thank you mom for........ nagging me haha telling me study hard then ask me go sleep haha.

My dad is the best dad. He drove me to school when I don't feel like attending school, making breakfast and helping me to buy ingredients when I needed them. Thank you daddy and I'm glad I've done you proud enough. :)

Really so blessed and touched by people who've made an impact in my life. Hope that I will continue to do all of you proud and getting prepared with next phrase of life.... university. I won't deny that I'm worried but eventually i've to face it and I know I'll have the support of my wonderful family and boyfriend. Counting down to 2 more days to saturday 7th june, can't wait to see my dear :')

WO BI YE LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
