Over a half a year ago, I took the courage to sign up as a WOWmember of Korea Tourism Organisation to spread awareness of Korea culture and the festive seasons. It was a few minutes procedure of filling up your particulars and your interests either in their cooking classes or free Korea language classes. That being said, I highly recommend you guys to join the member program which entitles you perks and privileges such as joining their giveaways for T-card (Korea's transportation version of our very own ez-link card) and also tourist brochures and tax rebates for tourist attractions and products such as food, cosmetics. But anyway yes! We had our third gathering, this time at Wang Dae Bak Korea BBQ restaurant that serves the options of having ala carte korea dishes and their most recommended Korea grilled beef/pork barbecued serving.

The place is situated near Chan brothers where you will see a bridge that links Hong Lim Complex and some shophouses. I was rather lost as I alighted at Telok Ayer MRT station which is at china square central instead at 18 Cross Street instead of 22 Cross street. I would highly recommend you guys to alight at the Chinatown MRT station and walk to Hong Lim and cross over if you are finding this restaurant!
I love this egg with crab meat thing at the surrounding of the hotplate while the meat sizzle in the middle. That was a pretty cool concept I thought as steamed eggs are like the must have in korea! The meat was perfectly marinated and I thought that the meat actually melted in my mouth! It was a great experience watching a huge piece of meat getting cooked and using scissors to cut into small pieces for us to eat later!
I love this Tteok-bokki with cheese on top! The cheese is extremely thick and smooth. There's also noodles inside and it is chewy as well.
All the side dishes where in Korea is known as Banchan. The common dishes of Banchan that you have try it are kimchi, braised tofu which is chilled with spring onion, mash potato banchan. I like how they marinate the kimchi not so spicy and the sourness just right.
Close up of the kimchi and the fishcakes. Also there is Ikan Bilis and the marinated shredded spring onion that goes well with cabbage and the meat. Honestly I don't mind paying for free flow side dishes of the the banchan and eat there. All of the dishes are really good!
Silky toufu
For the side, i ordered the bibimbap with the beef! I love how fragrant the rice topped with the runny egg yolk. It was really delicious and totally spoilt for choice.
The crispy teokbokki on the spoon while i munch on my rice.
The seafood pancake that we ordered! It was a huge piece really and we were so full from eating by then. But it would definitely be perfect to be shared among your family or friends!
Not forgetting the pork rib and potato soup that its really thick and filled with straw mushrooms! Love it. We shared it together :) Check out the bubbling soup stew!
And at the end of the meal, we were be given with photo frame as a memory keepsake. It was really sweet of them to give us! Would highly recommend you guys to try there! Expected damage is around $20-$25/ per person. Most of the dishes comes with big portion where you can share it with everyone! Specially thanks to KTO for being so generous and giving me an opportunity to meet all my chinggu (friend in korean) and to know more about Korea culture. You can continue reading my adventures as I'll be flying on this Saturday!

Wondering where to go for a family feast for this coming christmas?
Our school's gourmet club actually sponsored part of the buffet price for us! I was so shocked at the variety of different food ranging from seafood to dim sum table, western table with salads and to the dessert table. It was really affordable considering we paid $30/pax? I would give the ambiance 10/10 too as they were decorated with fairy lights and christmas decorations that totally lit up the whole atmosphere.
Some of the items on the seafood table:
- Alaska Crab Legs that tasted pretty good, claws on the ice as well
- Oysters with different sauces such as Tabasco, seafood dip
- Salmon, sashimi, tuna and assorted sushi such as eel, grinned lobster with egg sushi
- A lot mussels, clams and prawns! Their prawns are super fresh that we took one bowl to eat ourselves!
I am super impressed with the western salad table. They provide bacon bits, parmesan cheese and also those atas vegetables that you normally pay a lot when you purchase from salad shops? You could even mix it on the table and add corn, tomato and bean sprouts to make it more appetising. At the left of the table, you could make your own rojak which i thought was the Chinese version of salad. There's youtiao, dougey (those dried beancurd) and also like cucumber and pineapple. We had soooo much fun mixing those into a big bowl!
What's christmas without turkey and the all kind of ham??? There's also side table with the baked sweet and the normal potatoes with a corner for beef and cheese scallop! All the turkey can be served by dripping either black pepper sauce or some cheese mustard sauce on top. This is more towards catering to Chinese families! There are kuah patti (those crispy cups with the popiah fillings) and also laksa that you can choose the ingredients and they'll cook for you!
For birthday occasions, you could order cake from the counter and macrons as a gift for anyone.
The beautiful christmas tree that was at the aisle towards the restaurant.
and of course the beautiful decorations that you could take a photo with!
My favourite section!!!
They are super well known for their dessert spread. We had like many kind of dessert like Creme Buree, New york cheese cake, matcha cheese cake and Durian Pegnat??! A big bowl of durian that was mixed with cream milk and stored with a bowl of ice. Every single time I go buffet, this confirm damn popular one! Like people will just stand waiting there for the waitress to bring out as it is usually consumed very quickly by all the guests.
Another section for Matcha Chocolate Fondue?!?
The entire row of sweets, chocolate sticks and marshmallows to go with your matcha fondue. Just poke through using the sticks and dip in! It tasted so rich and good. Totally worth the hype of coming here.
Wafer fan, gummy bear, flower marshmallow and jelly beans? You want it, they have it!
Not forgetting a chio picture with the christmas tree because the whole atmosphere is so pretty. You can actually watch a short VLOG on the food spread that Park Royal Pickering offers! Btw, this is not sponsored, it was done purely for fun!
As you can see, I was still with my heavy eyebags LOL haven't been sleeping for many days for exams and projects. But now I am fine!! So pardon me if you are shocked at how bad my eyebags was hahahahaha

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to try out virtual reality entertainment with Zero Latency! Their game concept was really interesting as all of us were allowed to be free roam, allowing multi-player of 8 people team fighting off killer zombies to stay alive or solving puzzle in a avatar world. Anyway, do you know that they actually converted the entire 4,200 square feet of retail space into warehouse scale VR gaming zone for a perfect experience for everyone? I remembered the times I used to travel to timezone just to play Land of the Dead in arcades. Sian. I was so hardcore that I end up spamming all my money to ensure that I don't die at the giant lump zombie monster stage LOL now i don't die so easy already cause I have a team!! WEW!!
All of us were equipped with headgears with microphones, military-style backpacked and the high-end VR headsets to enter into the 360 degree interactive virtual world. The cool part is that the wireless technology allows every single player to move around freely in the gaming space, as well as to communicate and strategise with team mates in real time. I would totally think that Zero Latency is great for team building for corporate events, families and friends for an unforgettable cool experience!
So, there are basically three gaming worlds to choose from:
- Engineerium (15mins) - Perfect for first-timers and VR experimenters which brings a family friendly fantasy alien world combines with ancient floating platform and puzzle challenges.
- Zombie Survival (15 mins) - Surrounded with waves and waves of zombies. Question is can you stay alive until the rescue team arrives?! This is an intended gaming undead shooter experience that guaranteed to keep your adeline alive if you try it!
- Singularity (30mins) - Fight against killer robots and drones in zero gravity? Yes man! Watch out for danger in a secret military space station where you survival will depend on four weapon modes such as scatter, beam, pulse rifle or fail gun against the enemy.
Super excited to get all our equipments ready and our laser guns!! That was me flipping my hair to not let it kiap my hair HAHAHA and of course, not forgetting you'll also hold a perfectly weighted, custom-made simulated weapon you hand for game sessions that requires firepower.
So this was the virtual avatar world that we tried. So i was the female avatar floating around endlessly finding for planks to go up lol. Not sure if you can imagine playing this, basically you have to go "up" to another virtual island where there lies your spot in the island.
Really really wanna try this someday! This is the damn cool Singularity gaming world I was talking about!
Each play-through is a unique experience with success both measured by personal score and team score. So you confirm get that satisfaction feeling when you are the only girl shooter in the team clinching one of the top three positions HAHAHA you never know cause some guys are quite noob :P
This is some scary zombie apocalypse i swear. The zombie was right on my face and I was crazily firing my gun and loading the laser by activating the refill on my gun repeatedly HAHAHA
Zero Latency packages all comes with 15 minutes of detailed gameplay briefing including safety and game objectives and 30 minutes of hyper-immersive VR gameplay and finish off with a private debriefing session with your squad at the exclusive ZL lounge before returning to the real world. Also, if you are wondering if your items will be well-kept, don't worry! they do provide lockers which are two sided for you to keep your items safe while you are busy shooting the zombies and floating around as a avatar.

Korea is a incredible country, not only with the Kpop music and talent buskers on the streets but also the beautiful night scenery that you will be able to witness with your loved one. The amount of things to do is endless, and every unique experience awaits you at every destination. The destination are stretched from PyeongChang - Seoul - Gangwondo and here are some ideas for you if you are planning to head there for Christmas!
Pyeongchang Ski resort
PyeongChang Ski resort provides you with many range of ski sports and accommodation you can select when you are staying there overnight for a one day ski experience! There is different kind of Korea cuisine you can try out and why not grab your ski boards up the cable car and try ski-ing at night? It will be best experience to celebrate christmas since you never know when the snow will just fall.

How about watching fireworks during the day on christmas eve or christmas? There are many places in Korea that will be putting fireworks everywhere! Some of the places would be at Seoul tower, Busan Christmas festival etc.
Seoul Tower
Seoul tower is a must visit when you are in Seoul. You can choose either to hike up or take a cable up to the hill top where you are greeted with the entire sight of Seoul city. It is especially beautiful when you are there at night. It can be extremely chilling on top during winter so remember to bring extra clothings or ask your oppa to borrow you his winter coat! :)
Also, I remembered being so engrossed in looking the entire sky-lit with the fairy-lights because it was the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen. Took so many photos there!

Everland Amusement Park
Everland is South Korea's largest theme park. Located at the Everland Resort in Yongin, a city in Gyeonggi-do, it receives 7.3 million visitors annually and was ranked sixteenth in the world for amusement park attendance. It feels like another disneyland for me as the decorations at night was especially lit. Every corner was instagram-able and the rides are all family friendly. I would highly recommend you to stay for the night parade where there is fireworks display and the characters meet and greet with the night carousel.
The christmas village at Overland.
Address:
199 Everland-ro, Pogog-eup, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea
Yongma land
Complete with a carousel, bumper cars, and a ferris wheel, Yongma Land was a popular location for local families for the first decade after it opened. However, it was soon shut down in 2011 because it was unable to compete with other amusement parks in Korea. It remained as a hot tourist spot for photo taking especially couples. It reminds of those 90's rides we had in the past.
It was said that there stayed a park attendant that would transform the whole park into beautiful lights and photo taking areas at night.

The Garden of Morning Calm
The garden houses about 5,000 kinds of plants, including 300 varieties native to Baekdusan Mountain, known as a spiritual mountain to the Korean people. Isn't it gorgeous at all?
The super starry feel.
The entire garden with all the lights.
You should totally explore South Korea's Garden of Morning Calm – one of the shooting locations for the K-drama 'Love in the Moonlight' ... In winter, it's better to go from late afternoon to night, when colorful lights turn the park into an otherworldly scene.
