Wang Dae Bak (Chinatown) with KTO supporters!

Over a half a year ago, I took the courage to sign up as a WOWmember of Korea Tourism Organisation to spread awareness of Korea culture and the festive seasons. It was a few minutes procedure of filling up your particulars and your interests either in their cooking classes or free Korea language classes. That being said, I highly recommend you guys to join the member program which entitles you perks and privileges such as joining their giveaways for T-card (Korea's transportation version of our very own ez-link card) and also tourist brochures and tax rebates for tourist attractions and products such as food, cosmetics. But anyway yes! We had our third gathering, this time at Wang Dae Bak Korea BBQ restaurant that serves the options of having ala carte korea dishes and their most recommended Korea grilled beef/pork barbecued serving.

The place is situated near Chan brothers where you will see a bridge that links Hong Lim Complex and some shophouses. I was rather lost as I alighted at Telok Ayer MRT station which is at china square central instead at 18 Cross Street instead of 22 Cross street. I would highly recommend you guys to alight at the Chinatown MRT station and walk to Hong Lim and cross over if you are finding this restaurant!
I love this egg with crab meat thing at the surrounding of the hotplate while the meat sizzle in the middle. That was a pretty cool concept I thought as steamed eggs are like the must have in korea! The meat was perfectly marinated and I thought that the meat actually melted in my mouth! It was a great experience watching a huge piece of meat getting cooked and using scissors to cut into small pieces for us to eat later!
I love this Tteok-bokki with cheese on top! The cheese is extremely thick and smooth. There's also noodles inside and it is chewy as well.
All the side dishes where in Korea is known as Banchan. The common dishes of Banchan that you have try it are kimchi, braised tofu which is chilled with spring onion, mash potato banchan. I like how they marinate the kimchi not so spicy and the sourness just right.
Close up of the kimchi and the fishcakes. Also there is Ikan Bilis and the marinated shredded spring onion that goes well with cabbage and the meat. Honestly I don't mind paying for free flow side dishes of the the banchan and eat there. All of the dishes are really good!
  Silky toufu
For the side, i ordered the bibimbap with the beef! I love how fragrant the rice topped with the runny egg yolk. It was really delicious and totally spoilt for choice.
The crispy teokbokki on the spoon while i munch on my rice.
The seafood pancake that we ordered! It was a huge piece really and we were so full from eating by then. But it would definitely be perfect to be shared among your family or friends!
Not forgetting the pork rib and potato soup that its really thick and filled with straw mushrooms! Love it. We shared it together :) Check out the bubbling soup stew!
And at the end of the meal, we were be given with photo frame as a memory keepsake. It was really sweet of them to give us! Would highly recommend you guys to try there! Expected damage is around $20-$25/ per person. Most of the dishes comes with big portion where you can share it with everyone! Specially thanks to KTO for being so generous and giving me an opportunity to meet all my chinggu (friend in korean) and to know more about Korea culture. You can continue reading my adventures as I'll be flying on this Saturday!
