Beijing Travel Guide to Old Summer Palace 圆明园

Guide to Old Summer Palace (Yuan Ming Yuan Park)
photo from google

This place is too, built by the same emperor with constructed western style walls, pavilions but was tragically destroyed by Anglo French expedition. Also, it also hosted a imperial museum filled with artefacts, treasures so burning down would kind of meant power I guess. And I learn most of it through watching a documentary called 圆明园 (93 minutes long) but definitely worth every single time of yours when you're going exit from Xiyang lou where all the ruins is basically located in. It is kinda depressing to see those soldiers stealing, using pistols to shoot it or smash those artefacts then setting fire 3 days 3 nights.

It was later revealed that more than 300 maids and eunuchs were trapped in a room with all the late emperor's painting. All of them died in the room and nobody realise after the big fire. So here I am the ruins! Heading to Yuan Ming Yuan is also similar subway line, but 1 stop ahead. The old summer palace was definitely much easier to navigate like 2 minutes away and you can see the attraction gate?!?! Purchase your 大人联票 again and you can never go wrong!

While walking in, there's so many beautiful species of flowers. Worth every time walking around admiring those flowers.
So so so so in love with the flowers! :)
The weather is crazily hot I swear.

There is a free photobooth service and I took the opportunity to develop this! Really in love with Beijing Spring :-)
Black swans.

Reached Xiyang Lou with all the ruins! Basically you can't enter this area.

There's a maze here where many locals cursing at the ancients for building this. HAHAAHA really confusing trying to navigate it there. Worse still, nobody is allowed to climb the maze walls. Is it true that when you touched at the right side of the wall, you'll reach the exit? I did and...... within minutes I bumped into dead end. HAHAHA

Dandelion!! 蒲公英
Trying act chio but failed miserably.

I didn't want to went in but apparently it allows visitors to?!?! Cause there were no barricade around just no cell phones during thunder. But who will actually risk raining and take photographs? Just took a few photos and left. Didn't touch or anything.

 Remaining ruins.

The majestic palace and the halls used to look like before the ruins. So sad. War is never the way to solve things, so many people suffered.

And here I am, completing both tourist attractions in Beijing with the help of mobile application and kind local help! Really quite well done and damn exhausted after completing both.

After watching documentary, just walk straight and you will see a exit and signboard that will led you all the way out to overhead bridge. Take any bus there and it will lead you to the train station Pekking University North/South Gate I can't remember. That's the subway station! Meanwhile you will drive pass the famous Tsing Hwa University and Pekking University. (If doubt, just see the application) Didn't even know Pekking University used to be Imperial Academy. That is way too cool?!?!

Apparently I think all the emperors used to situated themselves and their army in Beijing or Xi An. Will update soon again! :)
